Overview Join our dynamic team as an assistant maintenance technician and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our hotel spaces. This energetic position offers the opportunity to ensure the hotel's physical environment remains safe, functional, and comfortable for guests. Their work covers guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house systems, and sometimes outdoor spaces.
Duties Respond to maintenance requests:
Address guest room and public area issues such as HVAC malfunctions, plumbing leaks, electrical faults, and broken fixtures.
Perform preventive maintenance:
Conduct scheduled tasks like filter changes, lubrication, inspections, and system calibrations to prevent breakdowns.
Repair building systems:
HVAC units (PTACs, fan coils, heat pumps) Plumbing systems (toilets, faucets, drains, water heaters) Electrical components (outlets, switches, lighting) Carpentry and cosmetic repairs (doors, furniture, drywall, painting) Conduct routine inspections: Identify issues in guest rooms, public areas, and mechanical spaces before they escalate.
Maintain safety systems:
Ensure fire alarms, sprinklers, emergency lighting, and life-safety equipment remain compliant and operational.
Outdoor and facility upkeep:
Maintain grounds, pool areas, and exterior spaces when required.
Coordinate with other departments:
Work with housekeeping, front desk, and engineering teams to resolve issues efficiently
Experience:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in at least three trade areas such as electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, or general building maintenance
Problem-Solving:
Ability to diagnose issues, implement solutions independently, and prioritize work orders effectively
Physical Fitness:
Capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, time management, and customer service skills to interact with guests and staff
