Job Description

SJS Executives, LLC (SJS), also doing business as SJS Industrial, is currently seeking a reliable, safety conscious, experienced, Maintenance Mechanic to work full time for SJS in Kittery to help support operations at a Naval Shipyard. Pay for this position is $31.00/hr. The benefits are 11 paid federal holidays per year, 56 hours of annual accrued Sick Leave (equivalent to 7 paid days off), and an employer-paid medical, health, dental, and life insurance bundle. (After 1 year of employment, 10 Vacation days also become available.) SJS is a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with 250 employees coast to coast and a headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia; it specializes in professional services to support federal and military organizations. This person will enjoy collaborating with a team and know how to conduct themselves with decorum, as they will be working on a property owned by the United States federal government and interacting with federal employees and service members.
Responsibilities:
The Maintenance Mechanic shall perform a variety of journey level trade work involved in emergency/service, recurring maintenance and facilities alterations and repairs of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, equipment and utilities.

Installs, overhauls and repairs gas and electrical galley equipment and performs necessary preventive maintenance on equipment. Installs, overhauls and repairs large commercial industrial air conditioning, exhaust, ventilating, humidifying/dehumidifying systems, high pressure boilers, and towers, with associated component equipment such as super heaters, pre-heaters, economizers, baffles; breechings, reciprocating/centrifugal compressors, refrigerant controls, hermetically sealed motors, condensers, pressure controls, thermostatic motor controls, automatic defrosting controls, feed water regulators, transformers, electrodes, governors, turbine blades, distribution lines, automatic alarms, etc.;Installs, troubleshoots and repairs new and existing electrical wiring for industrial complexes and machinery, high tension lines, hydraulic equipment, conveyor systems, high intensity lighting systems and fire alarm systems; installs and repairs new and existing hydraulic, nitrogen, oxygen, steam heating and steam generating piping systems and steam generators, flash and expansion- tanks, condensate/vacuum circulating pumps, and radiators; constructs brick, block and stone structures such as circular smoke stars, chimneys, manholes, boilers, archways, and furnace walls.

Performs assigned routine tasks.
Qualifications:
In accordance with federal regulations, possession of a valid Real ID is a requirement for this position.4 or more years of experience working in facilities maintenance.

Requires knowledge and ability to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, diagrams, and engineering drawings and use formulas. Must have skill in the use of hand tools and a wide variety of trade equipment.

Requires knowledge of the construction of commercial/industrial facilities, utilities, and equipment, and of pertinent trade principles, theories, and methods.

Requires journey level skills in any two of the following trades: Electrician, Equipment Mechanics, Pipefitter, Sheet Metal Mechanic, Welder, Mason and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic.

Shall have the ability to drive a motorized vehicle and possess a valid drivers license.

Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation; please note the background check for this position extends past 7 years, in conformance with federal law and US Department of Justice guidelines for work on a military installation.
