Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Traveling Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position will primarily serve locations between the Orono and Brunswick areas, with the ideal candidate located in or near the Augusta/Waterville area to provide convenient access to both service areas. The Traveling Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and other technical services across multiple locations. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and traveling to different facilities throughout the workweek. The position is intended to be a Monday-Friday, technician-only role, with the potential for a four-day, 10-hour schedule depending on business needs.
Compensation:
$30 - $35 hourly
Responsibilities:
Travel between customer locations in the Orono through Brunswick service area to perform maintenance and repair work. Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections of equipment and systems. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and other equipment issues and identify appropriate repairs. Complete repairs and maintenance in a timely and professional manner. Respond to service requests and prioritize work based on urgency and operational needs. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts, and materials used. Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and management regarding equipment issues and completed work. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition. Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while working independently in the field. Participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in maintenance, repair, facilities maintenance, or a related technical field preferred. Strong mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to diagnose problems and determine effective solutions. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to travel regularly between locations throughout the Orono-to-Brunswick service area. Valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver tools, equipment, and materials as required. Must be dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in a field-based environment.
