Hotel Maintenance EngineerJob Summary The Hotel Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the hotel's physical property, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections while ensuring compliance with safety standards and hotel policies. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities. Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and carpentry issues. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff. Inspect hotel facilities regularly to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns. Maintain and repair lighting, fixtures, appliances, doors, windows, locks, and furniture. Monitor and maintain boilers, chillers, generators, pumps, and other building systems as assigned. Complete work orders accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, fire safety standards, and hotel operating procedures. Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory. Assist with renovations, painting, and special projects as needed. Coordinate with outside contractors when necessary. Participate in emergency response procedures and be available for on-call maintenance as required. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred. Previous hotel, commercial building, or facilities maintenance experience preferred. Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building maintenance. Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and equipment specifications. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills for completing work orders and maintenance logs. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Comfortable working around mechanical equipment and using power tools. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed. Preferred Skills EPA Certification (preferred). HVAC certification or equivalent technical certification. Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
