Job Description
Maintenance Technician - Apartment Community Job Overview We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to handle the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our apartment community. This position is responsible for maintaining apartments, common areas, building exteriors, and the overall appearance and functionality of the property. The ideal candidate is dependable, hands-on, able to work independently, and comfortable interacting professionally with residents, contractors, and coworkers. Responsibilities Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the apartment community. Complete electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other basic maintenance tasks. Repair and maintain showers, sinks, appliances, doors, cabinets, walls, and other fixtures. Perform repairs and upkeep to building exteriors and common areas. Prepare apartment units for new residents, including make-ready work between move-outs and move-ins. Walk and inspect the property grounds and address maintenance or cleanliness issues. Perform sweeping, light landscaping, and seasonal snow removal. Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed. Participate in a rotating on-call schedule . Communicate professionally and courteously with residents, visitors, contractors, and fellow employees. Follow verbal and written instructions and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner. Provide and maintain the basic tools necessary to perform the job effectively. Qualifications & Requirements 3 years of maintenance experience preferred/required. Valid Michigan driver's license. Reliable transportation. Ability to pass a background check. Ability to work independently and follow instructions. Ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule. Must have the necessary hand tools to perform routine maintenance duties.
