Job Description

Title Maintenance Technician Status Full-Time Reports to Maintenance Supervisor Effective Date 11/12/2025 SUMMARY This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the general upkeep, repair, and improvement of all foundry machinery, guarding, and other various equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Diagnose and correct problems. The issues could be mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or any combination. Perform Preventative/Predictive Maintenance activities, which include taking measurements, making adjustments, replacing worn-out parts, and calibration. Complete all paperwork and documentation necessary to communicate work completed, including shift reports, work order completion, and item consumption. Maintaining a clean and functional work area. All other duties required by Management.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Engineering Department with the implementation of new foundry equipment. Work with the Safety Department to ensure all facets of the foundry meet or exceed our safety standards. Assists in other areas of plant operations as required. Understand and follow all of MEAC's policies and procedures.

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum 2 years previous experience, 3-5 years preferred High School Diploma Must be able to work safely Must have a mechanical aptitude Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment & buildings Ability to perform mechanical repairs on equipment & buildings Competent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform minor electrical repairs Must be able to read and understand drawings, blueprints and schematics Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and all facets of machine repair Ability to work independently as well as with others Computer skills Must be able to work on ladders with various height levels Drive a forklift Must be able to work in small, tight spaces Be able to weld & operate a torch
PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Work in a manufacturing environment Exposure to heat, loud noise, dust, odors, dirt/dust and fumes Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, reach, and grasp Frequently lift and lower up to 50 pounds. Assistance is required when lifting over 50 pounds Frequently carry up to 50 pounds. Assistance is required when lifting over 50 pounds MEAC Lock Out / Tag Out procedure
