Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated Dock Coordinator - Customer Service Representative for first and second shifts to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will oversee daily dock operations, coordinate shipping and receiving activities, and ensure seamless communication between warehouse personnel, carriers, and customers. Your focus will be on maintaining efficient warehouse distribution processes, managing inventory accuracy, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position offers an engaging environment where your contributions directly impact operational success and customer satisfaction. Position Summary Coordinates inbound and outbound trailer scheduling and dock operations at a third-party logistics (3PL) facility, serving as the primary point of contact for carrier drivers and customer representatives to ensure efficient, on-time loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Schedule and manage inbound/outbound, and balancing dock door availability Communicate directly with truck drivers, carriers, and dispatchers to confirm arrival times, gate/check-in procedures, and load/unload status Serve as point of contact for shipment status updates, ETAs, and exception handling (delays, detention, rescheduling) Assign trailers to appropriate dock doors based on product type, order priority, and warehouse layout Monitor real-time dock activity and proactively resolve bottlenecks, conflicts, or scheduling gaps Maintain accurate records of check-in/check-out times, trailer seals, BOLs, and detention/demurrage documentation Coordinate with warehouse operations, inventory, and transportation teams to align dock activity with pick/pack and put-away schedules Enforce yard and safety protocols for drivers on-site (PPE, trailer spotting, yard traffic flow) Escalate recurring carrier or customer issues to management with supporting data Required Qualifications 1-3+ years of experience in warehouse, transportation, or 3PL dock/yard operations Strong verbal communication skills; comfortable speaking directly with drivers and team members throughout the day Experience with WMS, TMS, or dock scheduling platforms preferred Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Working knowledge of BOLs, freight documentation, and carrier basics Proficiency in Excel/MS Office preferred National Background Check Preferred Qualifications Experience in cross-dock, distribution, or logistics environments Familiarity with detention/demurrage billing processes #MS6
Pay:
$18.00 - $18.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
