A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Best Western Davison Inn is hiring a dependable Hotel Maintenance Technician to keep guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and hotel grounds safe, clean, and in good working order.
Responsibilities:
Complete routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and assigned work orders Diagnose and repair common hotel issues involving plumbing, lighting, basic electrical components, doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, and appliances Maintain guest-room equipment, including heating and cooling units, televisions, refrigerators, and other hotel equipment Perform painting, drywall patching, caulking, minor carpentry, and general repairs Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff Support cleanliness by removing trash, cleaning work areas, and assisting with common-area or emergency cleanup when needed Inspect exterior areas, parking areas, landscaping, and building entrances for safety or repair needs Maintain tools, supplies, maintenance logs, and accurate records of completed work Coordinate with management and outside contractors when repairs require licensed or specialized service Follow safety procedures, equipment instructions, and applicable building requirements Assist other hotel departments when operational needs require it Be available for weekends, holidays, and occasional emergency calls as scheduled
Requirements:
Previous hotel, building, apartment, or facilities-maintenance experience preferred Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, painting, carpentry, and general repairs Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Dependable attendance, professional conduct, and good communication skills Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds A valid driver's license is preferred Best Western Davison Inn is an equal opportunity employer.
