Our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing teams are committed to maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our residents, families, and staff. We are looking for a dependable and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. Position Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for helping maintain the physical environment of our Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facilities. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep to ensure our buildings, equipment, and grounds remain safe, clean, functional, and comfortable for residents and staff. The ideal candidate is reliable, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently while also being part of a team. Essential Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing areas. Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner. Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs. Inspect equipment, fixtures, doors, windows, lighting, and other building components. Assist with preventative maintenance and routine safety inspections. Help maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces. Assist with maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Identify maintenance or safety concerns and report them to the appropriate supervisor. Assist with emergency maintenance situations as needed. Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in an organized and safe manner. Assist with seasonal maintenance and other facility projects as assigned. Follow all applicable safety procedures, facility policies, and regulatory requirements. Work respectfully and professionally around residents, families, visitors, and staff. Maintain appropriate communication with nursing and other departments regarding maintenance concerns that may affect residents. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous maintenance, facilities, building services, or related experience preferred. General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and building maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot basic maintenance issues and determine when additional assistance is needed. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact respectfully and professionally with older adults. Previous experience in a senior living, healthcare, Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, apartment, hotel, or similar environment is a plus. Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying as required.
