Job Description
About the Role Goodings Solutions is looking for a Commercial Dock and Overhead Door Maintenance Technician to join our field service team. In this role, you'll travel to commercial and industrial locations throughout West Michigan performing preventative maintenance on loading dock equipment and overhead doors — keeping our customers' facilities safe, efficient, and running smoothly. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, follows procedures closely, and communicates clearly with both the team and the customer. What You'll Do Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on commercial dock equipment, including dock levelers, dock locks, dock seals/shelters, and dock lights Inspect, service, and repair sectional and rolling steel overhead doors, including springs, cables, rollers, tracks, and operators Diagnose and correct issues found during PM visits, following manufacturer specs and company SOPs Travel daily to multiple customer sites across West Michigan Document all work performed on-site, including materials used, time on-site, and photos of completed work and any parts identified Communicate proactively with dispatch/management on job status, parts needed, and any access or safety issues at customer sites Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company well at every customer location Follow all safety protocols and use proper PPE and equipment at all times What We're Looking For Prior experience preferred but not required with commercial dock equipment and/or overhead door installation, service, or repair strongly preferred Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical/mechanical systems Ability to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and perform physical labor in varying weather conditions Strong attention to detail and commitment to following SOPs and completing accurate documentation Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently once trained Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to travel to job sites throughout West Michigan daily What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Company vehicle/truck for job travel Tools and equipment provided On-the-job training and support from an experienced team Opportunity for growth within a growing company How to Apply Interested candidates should submit a resume and brief work history
