Facilities and Maintenance Technician 9461 Anna's House Corporate - 3.4 Grand Rapids, MI Job Details 7 hours ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Full Job Description The Facilities & Maintenance Technician keeps Anna's House restaurant locations clean, safe, well-maintained, and presentable for guests and team members. This role is centered on general handyman work; painting, minor repairs, filter changes, equipment upkeep, and preventative maintenance rounds. The technician travels between multiple locations during second shift hours, when routine maintenance can be performed with minimal disruption to guests and staff, and serves as the first line of response for non-emergency facility issues. Responsibilities & Duties Perform general handyman repairs: patch and paint walls, fix or replace trim, doors, hardware, hinges, and locks, and address minor drywall damage.
Complete routine facility upkeep:
change HVAC and equipment filters, replace light bulbs and ballasts, touch up caulking, and repair or replace ceiling tiles. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance rounds at each assigned location using a standardized checklist, and log completed work and any issues found. Perform minor repairs to furniture, fixtures, flooring, signage, and small equipment; escalate anything beyond scope. Assist with seasonal and exterior upkeep: pressure washing, minor landscaping touch-ups, snow/ice safety spot-checks, gutter clearing, and parking-lot walk-throughs. Identify and report facility deficiencies (safety hazards, equipment wear, code concerns) to management and help prioritize follow-up work. Serve as the primary point of contact for non-emergency maintenance requests submitted by General Managers across assigned locations, and coordinate timing to minimize disruption to service. Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and consumable supplies (filters, bulbs, paint, hardware) and flag reorder needs. Support new-location openings and remodels with punch-list items, touch-up work, and move-in readiness tasks. Recognize when a repair requires a licensed HVAC, electrical, or plumbing contractor, and route those requests to management or approved vendors rather than performing the work directly. Follow all safety protocols, use PPE as required, and maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards while working around commercial kitchen equipment. Maintain professional, respectful communication with restaurant management and staff while working on-site during operating hours. Other duties as assigned Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience 3 years of experience in general maintenance, handyman work, facilities, or a related hands-on trade; restaurant or multi-site facilities experience is a plus. Skills Working knowledge of basic hand and power tools, painting techniques, and general repair methods. Ability to follow a preventative maintenance checklist and keep accurate, timely records of completed work. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and a clean driving record as this role regularly travels between locations. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks across multiple sites, and communicate clearly with restaurant management. Comfortable working evenings as the primary shift, with occasional early-morning or weekend availability for larger projects. Basic knowledge of when to escalate HVAC, electrical, or plumbing issues to a licensed professional rather than attempting the repair.
