Job Description

Position Summary:
15 to 25 hours per week. Some limited hours every other weekend. Pay is commensurate with experience. General knowledge of plumbing, electrical work, painting, and construction is needed. Maintains property appearance, equipment, pool chemicals, exterior grounds, furniture, and fixtures throughout the hotel. Repairs all damaged or inoperable items. Ensures guest safety and security at all times. Through preventative maintenance, it preserves the condition of the hotel to a "like-new" condition.
Purpose of Position:
To keep all guestrooms, public areas, pool areas, and exterior grounds of the property in clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained condition. Maintain the highest level of safety and security for our guests.
Essential Functions/Tasks:
Must know about pool chemistry. Assist guests with any special needs and always make guests the 1st priority. Greet every guest that you meet. Remove all debris from parking lots and the exterior of the building daily. Sweep under the canopy at the main entrance and hotel entrance ways on a daily basis. Report all injuries. Follow all company policies and procedures for safety and security. Clean and change air conditioning filters every week. Check and replace interior/exterior lighting and emergency lights. Maintain all vacuum cleaners weekly. Clean and de-lime ice machines every month. Complete daily maintenance requests in guestrooms, public spaces, and throughout the entire hotel. Follow proper procedures for handling chemicals on the job. Remove snow and ice from entrances and the parking lot area during appropriate seasons. Maintain awareness of all repair items requiring the attention of an outside service person and record on the proper Franchise form. Quarterly flip mattresses in all guestrooms. Maintain pool area. Keep the pool floor clean, and the pool and whirlpool vacuumed. Also, keep the pool equipment room clean and neat. Meeting all pool standards of quality and safety guidelines. Test and record to local city and state codes. Maintain shop and storage areas in clean and neat condition. Maintain lawn maintenance, landscaping, and snow removal. Perform preventative maintenance schedules for filters, belts, lubrication of equipment, small engines, such as snow blowers, garden tractors, or lawn equipment, and company vehicles. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance throughout the hotel. Attend all department meetings.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
Neat & well-groomed appearance and in proper uniform. Ability to lift to 75 pounds, reach, stoop, stand, and walk continuously, climb stairs and ladders, push or pull heavy equipment. Pleasant personality and people skills. Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends. Maintain a high level of quality, service, and cleanliness. Eye for detail. Good communication skills. Work within a team concept. Mechanical knowledge. Delivery of guest-requested amenities. Setting up meeting rooms and equipment. Assisting in other departments throughout the hotel.
Accountability:
Maintain a high level of quality, service, and cleanliness. Follows all state and federal guidelines, including OSHA Hazardous Communication Training. Acts on repair requests immediately and returns completed work orders to the General Manager on a timely basis. Acts on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance assignments Report maintenance, repair that needs contracted professional services immediately to the General Manager. Must be self-motivated with limited supervision.
Pay:
$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
