Job Description
NFCA is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Maintenance Tech. The ideal candidate will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as Gas and electric furnaces, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment by performing the required duties and essential functions. First shift training would be required for the first 2-3 months.
Essential Functions:
Troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical components Performs simple machine tool operations for the fabrication or repair of machine parts or components Installs new or repaired parts and replace faulty mechanical control, electrical, hydraulic, gas, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment Performs routine preventative maintenance Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts Repairs and maintains facilities as required Use precision measuring equipment, such as micrometers and depth gauges Cleans work area, tools and equipment Follow all lockout procedures, safety rules, and OSHA requirements. Other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager.Required Skills/Abilities:
- Possess basic mechanical abilities, including hydraulic and electrical knowledge
- Ability to read and work from drawings, charts, part lists, and service manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate with others
- Familiarity using various power and hand tools, such as hoists and grinders
- Must be team-oriented, able to solve problems and troubleshoot
- Demonstrate a commitment to safe working behaviors including lock out, fall protection, confined space and mobile equipment operation
- Good housekeeping practice Education & Experience
- High School Diploma/ GED
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours
- Ability to use hands repeatedly
- Ability to lift 25+lbs.
- Ability to work in high heat environment (non-temperature controlled)
