Job Description
Experienced Property Maintenance Technician - Residential Rentals We are looking for an experienced, dependable Property Maintenance Technician to assist with the ongoing maintenance and repairs of our portfolio of 44 residential rental properties . We are looking for someone with well-rounded residential maintenance experience who is comfortable handling a variety of repairs independently. Reliability, communication, quality of work, and availability are extremely important to us. Responsibilities Maintenance needs will vary and may include: Plumbing repairs and troubleshooting Repairing and replacing toilets Replacing faucets, sinks, and plumbing fixtures Replacing water heaters Basic electrical repairs and troubleshooting Replacing outlets, switches, light fixtures, and other electrical components Appliance installation and basic troubleshooting Drywall repair and patching Door, lock, trim, and hardware repairs Cabinet and countertop repairs Minor carpentry Painting and touch-ups General interior and exterior property repairs Rental turnover repairs Diagnosing maintenance issues and recommending appropriate repairs or replacements Other general maintenance needs that arise with residential rental properties What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has strong residential maintenance, handyman, construction, or trade experience Has experience with plumbing and basic electrical work Can confidently troubleshoot and diagnose maintenance issues Can complete common residential repairs independently Is reliable, punctual, and responsive Communicates well with property management Is professional and respectful when working inside occupied homes Has reliable transportation Has their own basic tools Can provide updates and photos of completed work Is reasonably available when maintenance requests arise Is willing to be on-call for occasional property emergencies Previous work references are required. Applicants should be able to provide recommendations from previous employers, clients, property managers, or other professional references and/or provide proof of previous maintenance or trade work. Work Schedule With 44 rental properties, maintenance needs can vary from week to week. Some weeks may be very busy, while others may be more relaxed. This is simply the nature of rental property maintenance, as we cannot always anticipate when a repair, turnover, or emergency will arise. We are looking for someone who appreciates that flexibility while also being dependable and available when work does come up. There may also be occasions when an urgent maintenance issue occurs outside of normal hours. The person in this position must be willing to be on-call for emergencies when needed. Our goal is to find someone reliable and experienced who we can build a long-term working relationship with and trust to help take care of our properties and tenants.
