Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of building systems and equipment to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and staff. Your expertise will help uphold the highest standards of facility functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal. Duties Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation. Troubleshoot and repair building interior systems including lighting, electrical wiring, plumbing fixtures, HVAC units, and facilities equipment using schematics, hand tools, and specialized testing devices such as ohmmeters. Conduct welding and mechanical repairs on various equipment components as needed to maintain operational efficiency. Maintain building interior aesthetics through painting (including residential painting) and carpentry tasks that enhance guest comfort and property appearance. Follow detailed schematics and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately and execute repairs efficiently. Oversee facilities maintenance operations by managing maintenance schedules, ordering parts (maintenance, repair, and operations supplies), and documenting all work performed. Lead or assist with plumbing system maintenance including leak repairs, pipe replacements, and drain cleaning to ensure water safety and functionality. Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for troubleshooting automated systems when applicable. Ensure compliance with safety standards by adhering to electrical codes, HVAC regulations, and other relevant building codes while performing repairs or upgrades. Collaborate with team members to prioritize maintenance tasks that minimize guest disruption while maximizing operational uptime. Requirements Proven experience in facilities maintenance with a strong background in electrical work, HVAC system repair, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting. Knowledge of electrical equipment repair including schematics interpretation and use of testing tools like ohmmeters. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automated building systems is preferred. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and building plans accurately. Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools for various repair tasks. Strong understanding of facilities equipment maintenance including HVAC systems (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), plumbing systems, electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, and building interior maintenance. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in English to coordinate with staff or guests when necessary. Experience with maintenance painting—both routine touch-ups and full residential-style painting projects—demonstrating attention to detail. Leadership qualities that enable effective supervision or collaboration within a team environment when required. Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, climbing ladders or scaffolding, bending or lifting heavy objects safely.
