Job Description
Maintenance Technician SUMMARY
Provide general maintenance services as necessary. Part time position, 25-29 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned by proper personnel.
General maintenance repairs
Knowledge of basic plumbing projects
Window, screen repairs
Preventative maintenance
Troubleshooting Mechanical issues around campus
Changing/converting light bulbs and/or fixtures
Troubleshoot electrical issues
Proficient in painting
Proficient in drywall maintenance
Changing filters and belts as needed Building walkthrough and documentation of building temps and pressures
On-call as scheduled monthly Ability to learn and apply what is needed to successfully maintain campus mechanicals
Assist with snow removal and other services as needed
Must be able to work quietly in professional environments
Must be a team player and work well with others to resolve campus wide issues
REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as a member of business affairs reporting directly to the Director of Physical Plant. Other duties as assigned by proper personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Experience working in multicultural academic environments preferred and individuals from diverse populations are encouraged to apply.
