Restaurant Maintenance Technician Chick-fil-A Alpine Avenue | Walker, MI $18-$19 per hour | Part-Time or Full-Time Chick-fil-A Alpine Avenue is hiring a Restaurant Maintenance Technician to help maintain our restaurant facility and commercial kitchen equipment. This is a hands-on maintenance position for a handyman who enjoys fixing things, troubleshooting problems, working with tools, and taking ownership of preventative maintenance. You'll complete scheduled maintenance, assist with basic repairs, monitor equipment and facility needs, and help identify problems before they become larger repairs. Experience in facilities maintenance, general repair, restaurant equipment, HVAC, automotive repair, manufacturing maintenance, handyman work, or another mechanically focused environment is helpful but not required for the right mechanically inclined candidate. Full-time employees in this position will also be cross-trained to support restaurant operations when maintenance work is complete. What You'll Do Your primary maintenance responsibilities may include: Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks Inspect restaurant facilities and equipment for maintenance needs Perform basic repairs and general maintenance Troubleshoot equipment concerns and identify potential problems Change HVAC and air-system filters Assist with routine commercial kitchen equipment maintenance Complete fryer oil changes and related preventative maintenance Safely use basic hand tools and maintenance equipment Move or lift equipment when needed for maintenance or cleaning Maintain organized maintenance records Monitor maintenance schedules and ensure assigned work is completed on time Communicate equipment problems and repair needs to restaurant leadership Help maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning facility Take ownership of assigned maintenance projects with limited supervision Additional Restaurant Responsibilities This position is part of our restaurant team, and full-time employees will be cross-trained in Back of House operations . When scheduled maintenance and repair responsibilities are complete, you may support the kitchen team with food preparation, stocking, cleaning, order preparation, and other restaurant operations. This cross-training allows us to offer a full-time opportunity while maintaining consistent responsibility for the restaurant's preventative maintenance needs. Schedule Part-Time and Full-Time opportunities available Saturday availability is required Full-time schedules include both maintenance and restaurant operations Some maintenance may be completed before or after normal restaurant operating hours Occasionally, larger maintenance projects may be scheduled on Sundays while the restaurant is closed Pay and scheduling considerations may vary based on experience and overall availability
Qualifications Required:
At least 18 years old Saturday availability Comfortable working with tools and completing hands-on projects Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods Ability to work safely around commercial kitchen equipment and hot surfaces Dependable transportation Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks on schedule Ability to communicate maintenance concerns clearly with restaurant leadership Legally authorized to work in the
United States Preferred:
Previous experience isn't required, but we'd especially like to hear from candidates with experience or skills related to: Facilities maintenance Preventative maintenance General repair or handyman work Restaurant or commercial kitchen equipment HVAC or mechanical systems Automotive repair Manufacturing or industrial maintenance Building maintenance Equipment troubleshooting Who Does Well in This Role? You may be a great fit if you're the person who naturally notices when something isn't working correctly and wants to figure out why. We're looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently. You should be willing to take ownership of maintenance responsibilities rather than waiting to be reminded that something needs to be done. You should also be comfortable being part of a restaurant team and willing to help wherever needed after maintenance responsibilities are complete. Pay & Benefits Starting pay: $18-$19 per hour , based on experience, mechanical competency, availability, and position requirements.
