POSITION SUMMARY

In this position reporting to the Facility and Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairs, along with general and preventative maintenance of machines in the plant. In this position you may be required to support other areas of the plant as needed.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

• Working knowledge of hand and power tools used in basic equipment repairs.
• Ability to perform routine and non-routine preventative maintenance functions per schedule or as directed.
• Ability to diagnose basic equipment malfunctions, repair and/or replace defective parts Willing and able to work independently or as part of a team Once qualified, willing to become part of the off-hours service team rotation Accepts other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned

SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING/EXPERIENCES

(preferred)

• Background in Industrial Maintenance o Fluid processing equipment, building systems, lathes, mills, saws and presses
• Boiler Operators License
• Working knowledge of motor circuitry and hydraulics Ability to trace and diagnose problems using electrical schematics Ability to trace and diagnose hydraulic fluid circuits
• Welding skills (MIG) and oxy-acetylene cutting and heating

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Occasional exposure to kneeling and working in tight spaces
• Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time (up to 75% of scheduled shift)
• Frequent exposure to noise, heat and chemical smells
