Minneapolis, MN Pay:
$34 - $36/hour
Schedule:
Monday-Friday + weekends, 11:30 AM-8:00

Full-Time We're currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician opportunity with one of our clients in Minneapolis. This is a hands-on facilities maintenance role supporting the day-to-day operation, safety, and reliability of a large commercial facility. We're looking for someone with a strong general maintenance background who is comfortable troubleshooting equipment, completing preventative and reactive maintenance, and working independently while providing excellent customer service to employees, vendors, and site leadership. About the Role As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining building systems, equipment, and common areas and ensuring the facility remains safe, functional, and well maintained. This position involves a broad range of general maintenance responsibilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and reactive maintenance throughout the facility Troubleshoot equipment and building systems down to the component level Complete general building repairs, including patching and painting Repair and install basic door and lock hardware Install and mount building fixtures, signage, TVs, and related equipment Perform minor plumbing repairs involving drains, faucets, valves, fixtures, and clogs Replace overhead lighting and HVAC/water system filters Conduct building safety inspections and equipment rounds Inspect and maintain emergency eyewash/shower stations and fire extinguishers Perform roof inspections and identify potential building issues Assist with snow removal and walkway salting as needed during winter weather Inspect kitchen and facility equipment Respond to hot/cold calls and other maintenance requests Proactively identify and address slip, trip, and fall hazards Follow proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures Maintain accurate records and work orders through a CMMS system Document completed work, inspections, equipment readings, and maintenance activities Maintain organized tools, supplies, equipment rooms, and storage areas Order maintenance supplies and help manage onsite inventory Coordinate with and escort outside vendors and contractors when needed Respond to maintenance escalations and emergencies as the first line of support Communicate professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and site leadership Follow all applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures What We're Looking For High school diploma, vocational training, or trade school education Experience in general building or facilities maintenance Working knowledge of basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of building equipment and systems Ability to explain basic technical issues to both technical and non-technical individuals Professional, customer-service-oriented approach If you have a solid facilities maintenance background and are interested in learning more, I'd be happy to connect and provide additional details about the client and opportunity.
