Description LJP Waste Solutions is seeking a reliable and skilled Plant Maintenance Technician to join our North Mankato team. This position is responsible for ensuring that facility equipment, machinery, and systems remain in safe and efficient operating condition. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining both mechanical and electrical systems in a fast-paced plant environment. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities Work safely and promote a safe work environment Understand and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures Follow lock out/tag out procedures to safely energize and de-energize equipment Complete preventative and reactive maintenance throughout the facility and on industrial equipment including forklifts, loaders, and skid loaders Complete preventative maintenance work orders in a timely manner Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance logs and checklists Document completed work and equipment conditions using maintenance software systems as necessary Operate standard maintenance equipment including power tools, hand tools, and electrical tools Work with outside contractors and vendors on electrical, welding, lubrication, gearbox, bearing, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical maintenance projects Interact regularly with peers and management to support continuous improvement and teamwork initiatives Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts as needed Work overtime, weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts with advance notice when operationally necessary Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Required Qualifications Ability to read and comprehend electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and operation manuals Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, conveyors, and hydraulic systems Experience using hand tools and electrical tools Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings Self-motivated, dependable, and safety-focused Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Previous plant maintenance or industrial maintenance experience Experience operating forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, or aerial lifts Experience working in manufacturing, recycling, waste, or industrial environments Benefits 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance
