Job Summary The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on plastic extrusion lines and auxiliary equipment. This role minimizes machinery downtime, diagnoses root causes of equipment failure, and ensures all operations comply with safety standards Job Duties
  • Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks and answering trouble calls.
  • Troubleshooting and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical (up to 480V/3-phase) problems with the use of schematics and wiring diagrams on motor and heater circuits ranging from low voltage to 480V 3-phase.
  • Removing and replacing defective parts from dryers, crystallizers, extruders and winders with the use of hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
  • Respond quickly to production floor breakdowns: diagnose electrical circuits and PLC components using multimeters and diagnostic tools.
  • Make entries to the maintenance log explaining problems encountered, repairs made, and parts used or needed.
  • Fabricating repair parts, machine guarding, mezzanines, etc. Using shop equipment. (Welders, plasma cutter, torch, grinder, etc.)
  • Keeping company tools put away and in working order. Qualifications
  • Good organizational skills with an ability to address multiple issues at once.
  • Effective communication skills in both spoken and written formats.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations and to other employees of the company.
  • Must be able to understand safety rules, SOP's, work instructions and lock out/tagout. Physical Requirements
  • High School diploma is preferred with 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Electrical experience is necessary.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods, and comfortably work around elevated platforms in a non-climate-controlled facility.
Pay:
$28.00
  • $31.
00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
