Description:
Cleans and maintains all floor surfaces using mechanical equipment, including linoleum, tile, carpet and area rugs. Performs duties related to the water maintenance program.
Requirements:
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required and some floor cleaning experience is preferred but will train if necessary. Maintenance experience is not required, but preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
: Ability to work unsupervised and be self-motivated. Ability to apply good judgment to determine when flooring needs extra care. Skill in buffer and waxing machine operation, along with carpet extractor operation and knowledge of required maintenance and repair of floor care equipment and tools.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITY AREAS AND FUNCTIONS
Cleans and maintains floors on a weekly basis throughout the building to upkeep a clean appearance and to sustain the life of the flooring material. Operate carpet cleaner to maintain all carpet within the facility. On a monthly basis, buff linoleum and tile flooring in the facility. On an as needed basis, strip and wax linoleum and tile flooring. Maintain floor care equipment on an ongoing basis. Performs routine water management preventative maintenance routine Weekly flushing Monthly floor drain treatment
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
Monitor quantities of floor care products and notify the maintenance manager when they are in need of being ordered. Help other departments when needed and in emergencies. Participate in hospital committees for the betterment of healthcare needs. Perform other duties as assigned. Attend hospital functions and training sessions. Participate in Wellness Center quarterly cleanup
EMPLOYMENT\VARIABLES
Ability to alter schedule to accommodate deep cleanings, stripping and waxing in areas non-accessible during normal business operating hours as needed. Work will primarily be normal weekday hours.
