AM Shift Schedule:

Sunday-Thursday one week and Monday-Friday the second week This position is eligible to earn high-pressure boiler time! Position Summary The Plant Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, packaging machinery, processing systems, and facility utilities to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations. This role supports preventive maintenance programs, responds to equipment breakdowns, and helps maintain a safe and sanitary work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform planned and unplanned maintenance on production, processing, packaging, and utility equipment. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems. Respond to equipment breakdowns and emergency repair situations as needed. Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and work orders. Complete preventive maintenance tasks and document maintenance activities accurately. Maintain and support utility systems including steam, air, electrical, refrigeration, and other manufacturing support equipment. Use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and material handling equipment safely and effectively. Complete work orders promptly while maintaining quality and safety standards. Communicate equipment issues and repair status with team members, supervisors, and other departments. Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with company procedures. Assist with inventory management by reporting low stock levels of maintenance parts and supplies. Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to increase equipment reliability and efficiency. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, confined space procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and fall protection practices. Support food safety, quality, and sanitation programs where applicable. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High School Diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. At least 1 year of experience in one or more of the following areas: Electrical systems Hydraulics Pneumatics PLCs and automation Electronic controls HVAC systems Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial equipment. Ability to identify equipment issues and take corrective action independently. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. Preferred Formal technical, engineering, or maintenance training. Experience in food and beverage manufacturing. Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels and varying temperatures. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
