Job Description

Job Overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. This role requires technical skills gained through a completed trade school program, and hands-on experience in industrial maintenance. A Day In The Life Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by: Ensuring all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and company policies Working safely on a variety of equipment to carry out preventive, reactive and predictive maintenance Troubleshooting electronic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment (including specialized equipment) Reading, interpreting, and programming PLC controllers and languages Determining root cause of equipment failures and developing preventative measures Performing electrical/mechanical fabrication and alterations Diagnosing machine operation failures and downtime utilizing machine manuals, PLCs, and other tools, including diagrams, wiring layouts, blueprints, schematics etc. Inspecting, operating, or testing machinery/equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions Using tools ranging from common hand and power tools (hammers, hoists, drills etc.) to precision measuring instruments Assembling, installing, or repairing wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, machinery, or equipment Inspecting drives, motors, and belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or performing other maintenance actions Performing preventative maintenance Operating fork truck/tow motor, hoists, scissors lifts and overhead lefts What will help you thrive in this role? Completion of a trade school program in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking systems. Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to use inspections equipment to ensure the quality of the parts being produced. Ability to physically do the work requiring frequent standing, bending and lifting to 20 lbs. frequently and 40 lbs. occasionally. Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports. Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machine and inspect parts. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate the equipment properly.
