Job Description
ATSU - Skilled General Maintenance I MO Description A.T. Still University (ATSU) is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Skilled General Maintenance I worker on the Kirksville, Missouri campus. The Skilled General Maintenance I will perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities on all ATSU Kirksville campus and general construction. This position will utilize skills and experience in general trades including, but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, roofing, painting, and other skills in support of university daily operations, in additon to building systems in support of university daily operations. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Facilities. Duties & Responsibilities Perform routine and emergency repairs, maintenance, and preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing building systems. Assess and analyze issues with building systems and perform necessary repairs. Respond to service requests from building occupants in a respectful and timely manner, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment. Perform general construction tasks for project work. Perform electronic record keeping related to work requests. Operate university vehicles and responsible for safe operation and reporting any observed maintenance needs. Refuel university vehicle after use when necessary. Respond to building emergencies, including occasional nights and weekends when necessary. Assist with snow removal and building related tasks during periods of inclement weather. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Skills & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Knowledge of basic building maintenance including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry and roofing. General construction experience. Experience working in operations and maintenance and / or construction. Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and Director. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to problem solve and perform root cause analysis. Experience using a variety of facilities and construction equipment including but not limited to hand tools, power tools, fork lift and pallet jacks. Experience operating a work utility vehicle or the ability to learn. Have a valid driver's license.
