Job Description
The City of Perryville is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician within the Street Department of Public Works. Your primary duties would include the maintenance, repair, and construction of public roadway infrastructure including asphalt and concrete pavements, concrete curb and gutters, sidewalks and related roadways; operation of heavy equipment; as well as snow and ice removal. Once trained, members of this team are required to participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule typically serving about one week every other month. Employees of the City receive a competitive benefits package which includes: 100% employer-paid health and life insurance for the employee 100% employer-funded retirement through LAGERS retirement program 14 paid Holidays per year 13 paid PTO days during your first year of employment 8 paid Long Term Care days per year for FMLA-qualifying events The starting annual salary is $42,701 with an increase to $44,410 after successfully completing the probationary period. Depending on qualifications, previous experience may constitute a higher starting salary. City residency is not required; however, any prospective on-call employee shall reside within a 35-mile and 45-minute radius of their worksite. A strong preference will be given to applicants with the following skills, abilities and qualifications: Prior concrete and construction labor experience (preferred) High school diploma or equivalent GED (required) Valid Missouri driver's license (required) Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement (required) Applicants who do not hold a CDL at the time of hire must be able to obtain as a condition of employment This position is open to the public as well as current City employees.
