Senior Maintenance Technician Service Specialists, ltd Pearl, MS Job Details Full-time From $28 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Food production Fabrication Teamwork Manufacturing facility experience Attention to detail Full Job Description Senior Maintenance Technician Service Specialist is recruiting for a leading food manufacturing and processing company seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join their team. Position Overview The Senior Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while supporting production and maintenance team members. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and is comfortable diagnosing equipment issues, performing preventative maintenance, and responding quickly to production-related maintenance needs. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial production and processing equipment. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control-system issues. Troubleshoot motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, sensors, switches, and other industrial equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals. Use electrical test equipment and other diagnostic tools to identify equipment problems. Assist with installation, startup, modification, and improvement of production equipment. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests. Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend corrective actions to improve reliability. Perform welding, fabrication, machining, or other mechanical repairs as needed. Maintain accurate maintenance records and document completed work. Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment uptime, safety, quality, and efficiency. Provide technical guidance and assistance to less-experienced maintenance team members. Work closely with production and other departments to minimize equipment downtime. Qualifications 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing or food processing environment. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience working with conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and automated production equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Working knowledge of PLCs and industrial controls; ability to troubleshoot PLC-related issues is strongly preferred. Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Welding and fabrication experience is preferred. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other maintenance diagnostic equipment. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs in a production environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and parts as required. Ability to work around industrial machinery and in a manufacturing/production environment. Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions commonly found in food manufacturing facilities. Schedule & Work Environment This is a hands-on maintenance position supporting a continuous production environment. The selected candidate must be willing to work the assigned shift and provide overtime or emergency support when necessary.
