Maintenance Mechanic II- A Shift (3:45am-4pm)
Job Description
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining and repairing production and facility equipment to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems, as well as the ability to perform preventative maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production and facility equipment. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues, including PLC and VFD troubleshooting. Operate and maintain tools and machinery such as welders, lathes, and drill presses. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inspections. Support new equipment installations and coordinate with vendors and contractors. Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, SQF, and all safety protocols. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Comply with applicable SQF requirements, food safety policies, quality standards, GMPs, and company procedures. Provide guidance and training to junior mechanics as needed.Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance; food manufacturing preferred. Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical (up to 480VAC), and pneumatic systems. Working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and preventive maintenance practices. Experience with welding (MIG/TIG), fabrication tools, and basic plumbing/carpentry. Able to read technical manuals, drawings, and electrical schematics. Must supply own tools appropriate to the role. Strong communication skills and a commitment to safety and teamwork. Certificate or degree in Industrial Maintenance or a related field (preferred). Stainless welding or HVAC experience a plus.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and pull up to 100 lbs occasionally. Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing. Work in hot, cold, or elevated environments with appropriate PPE. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):Required:
Safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, hair net.As needed:
Hard hat, respirator, welding helmet, fall protection gear.Pay:
$35.00 - $37.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per weekBenefits:
