Job Description

Are you the kind of person who hates sitting at a desk and thrives when every day looks a little different? At the Best Western Plus ClockTower Inn —along with our restaurant, Stella's Kitchen & Bakery—we're looking for a proactive, hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our property safe, efficient, and welcoming for every guest. Whether you already have strong general handyman skills or are eager to build up your experience, this role offers real autonomy. On rainy days, you might be inside knocking out room upgrades, and on sunny days, you'll be outside keeping the property looking sharp. No micromanagement and no traveling to new projects—just you, your tools, and a dynamic environment where your work directly impacts the guest experience.
What You'll Be Doing:
Property Upkeep:
Keep our guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel exterior looking fresh through routine and preventative maintenance.
The Technical Stuff:
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems (including PTAC units), tackle basic plumbing (leaks, fixtures), and handle minor electrical work (switches, outlets, lighting).
Hands-On Repairs:
Patch, paint, repair drywall, replace flooring (LVT/carpet), and fix up room furnishings.
Commercial Equipment:
Help maintain essential equipment for our restaurant, kitchen, and laundry facilities.
Pool Operations:
Monitor and treat the pool with the right chemicals and equipment to meet all safety standards.
Digital Tracking:
Keep things organized by maintaining accurate digital records of your work orders, inventory, and maintenance logs.
Guest Experience:
Jump in quickly to resolve maintenance requests and keep our guests happy.
Who We're Looking For:
The Team Player:
Someone who does not job job. Ideally the last 2 jobs worked at least 1 year at each.
The Problem Solver:
You are detailed and want the job done right, not just "good enough". Quantity over quality.
The All-Rounder:
You have strong general handyman skills, with a baseline in minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and furniture/wall repairs or willing to learn.
The Team Player:
You're reliable, detail-oriented, proactive, and know how to safely use power and hand tools.
The Go-Getter:
You have your Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, or you're ready and willing to get it within your first 6 months.
The Flexible Pro:
You have the ability to work shifts as necessary between 7 AM and 10 PM, as well as on weekends.
The Physical Requirements:
You are physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and maneuver in tight spaces
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
From $19.00 per hour
Benefits:
Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): Do you have a clean driving record for the past 7 years, free of any major moving violations such as DUI, reckless driving, or license suspensions? Are you able to pass a pre-employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana? Are you willing and able to work every weekend as part of your regular schedule?
