We are seeking candidates with 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Positions are available on first and second shifts. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Future Foam, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of polyurethane foam products and has been family-owned for more than 60 years. Position Overview We are seeking talented, reliable, and experienced Maintenance Technicians to help maintain the condition, safety, and functionality of our manufacturing facilities and equipment. These hands on position is responsible for mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and general plant maintenance. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who can work independently, respond quickly to production issues, and complete projects and repairs in a timely manner. Industrial electrical experience is a plus. The ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics, troubleshoot control circuits, and work with 480-volt motors and equipment is highly valued. Responsibilities- Troubleshoot mechanical problems by observing equipment in operation, listening for unusual conditions, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Troubleshoot production equipment issues and complete repairs promptly to minimize downtime and support production goals.
- Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to maintain safe and reliable operation.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment issues, repairs, and ongoing needs, and communicate information effectively with supervisors and production personnel.
- Inform supervisors and production employees of routine preventive maintenance and equipment requirements.
- Assist with dismantling, relocating, installing, and setting up machinery and equipment throughout the plant.
- Assist production operators with equipment-related issues and follow proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures when equipment breakdowns occur.
- Perform general building and plant maintenance as needed.
- Respond effectively to equipment breakdowns, changing priorities, and challenging work conditions.
- Complete assigned maintenance projects in a timely and professional manner.
- Comply with all company safety policies, work practices, and environmental requirements.
- Perform other maintenance duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications & Other Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment required.
- Associate degree or technical training in a related field is a plus.
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience required; electrical troubleshooting experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics is a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting control circuits and wiring 480-volt motors and equipment is highly desirable.
- Must be good at measurements down to the 16th
- Welding and metal fabrication experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Ability to provide and maintain personal hand tools necessary to perform job responsibilities.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Must be able to respond effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities may change quickly. Physical Requirements This position is physically demanding and requires repetitive physical activity. The employee must be able to:
- Climb, bend, stoop, walk, lift, push, and pull as required.
- Work around manufacturing equipment and in a production environment.
- Lift and move materials, tools, and equipment as necessary.
- See and hear effectively to safely perform job duties.
