Part-Time Maintenance Technician - Self Storage StorMark Self Storage Asheboro, NC Job Details Part-time $15.50 - $16.50 an hour 2 days ago Qualifications Outdoor work experience Company vehicle operation Property maintenance Attention to detail Construction experience Mechanical troubleshooting Woodworking Full Job Description Part-Time Maintenance Technician - Self Storage Asheboro, NC | Approximately 24 Hours Per Week Growing self-storage operator is seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support our two locations in Asheboro, NC. This position is ideal for someone with property maintenance, facilities, handyman, construction, apartment maintenance, or similar experience who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of property condition. This is not a desk position. The successful candidate will spend most of the workday inspecting properties, completing repairs, preparing units for rental, handling cleanouts, and addressing maintenance issues before they become larger problems. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform general and preventative property maintenance Conduct routine property walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety, and cleanliness concerns Troubleshoot and complete basic repairs throughout the facilities Maintain and repair storage unit doors, tracks, hasps, latches, and related hardware Perform minor carpentry, patching, fixture replacement, and general handyman work Assist with basic plumbing or other minor maintenance issues when appropriate Clean and prepare vacant storage units for new customers Complete abandoned-unit cleanouts and debris removal Maintain property cleanliness and curb appeal Perform basic pest-control-related duties Meet with and coordinate vendors when repairs require outside contractors Complete special maintenance projects as needed Identify larger repair issues and communicate them promptly to management Self-Storage Responsibilities Previous self-storage experience is not required. Training will be provided for industry-specific responsibilities including: Lock cuts and drilling locks Overlocking and unlocking storage units Auction preparation and photographs Lien-related property procedures Storage door and hasp repairs Preparing units and properties for customer use What We're Looking For The right candidate will be: Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule Comfortable working independently without constant supervision Mechanically inclined and capable of troubleshooting basic maintenance issues Detail-oriented and proactive about identifying property problems Comfortable using a smartphone for photographs, communication, and work updates Able to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds Comfortable performing physical work indoors and outdoors Able to travel reliably between our two Asheboro properties Previous experience in property maintenance, apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, handyman work, building maintenance, or a similar field is strongly preferred. Schedule This is a part-time position averaging approximately 24 hours per week . The schedule offers some flexibility, but work may be required Monday through Saturday depending on property needs, scheduled projects, unit turns, auctions, or vendor appointments. Because this position supports two properties, reliable transportation is required. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background screening and drug screening. Candidates must also meet company driving requirements.
