Job Description

The Company Ingles Markets began in 1963 as a single supermarket and has since grown into a regional grocery store chain with just under 200 retail locations operating in 6 southeastern states, a 1.6-million-square foot distribution center, two truck fleets, and a milk processing plant. Ingles Markets' headquarters and distribution center are located just 15 minutes outside of Asheville, NC in the town of Black Mountain. The Position The Floor Maintenance Equipment Technician services and repairs floor cleaning equipment. This position will ensure that broken equipment is restored to a safe operating condition while tracking accurate parts and labor costs.
Key Responsibilities:
General problem solving. Re-build combustible and electric motors. Diagnose electrical wiring problems. Replace worn or broken parts. Disassemble and re-assemble motors. Read wiring diagrams. Use a multi-meter. Clean the equipment thoroughly before returning it to the store. Maintain a clean and orderly workstation. Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
The Ideal Candidate:
High School diploma or equivalent. Machine and electrical maintenance experience preferred. Must have the ability to complete the physical task related to maintenance work: lifting 10-75 lbs., regularly sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and use hands to operate tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
