Job Description

Prestage Farms is seeking a Maintenance Technician who will work independently and with other hatchery personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. This individual will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities' equipment and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company. This position will report to the Hatchery Manager. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as incubators, conveyors, electrical components, compressors, HVAC systems, pumps, and etc. Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors. push buttons, contactors, motors, motor starters, etc. Perform work order repairs, inspections, adjustments, and operate/maintain the wastewater sprayfield Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment Participate in plant safety, health and environmental programs as well as animal welfare training Establish and maintain working relationships with departmental heads, clerical administration, and representatives of other divisions and departments Requirements Must have a valid NC Driver's License Must be willing to respond to off hour shift emergencies and on a rotating weekend call list At least 5 years' experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and electrical repair HVAC experience is preferred Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is an asset Experience in computer repair/technology is an asset Must regularly lift and/or move heavy objects Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevated levels as well as confined spaces Benefits Some Of Our Benefits Include Affordable Family Health Insurance Paid Time Off Company Paid Life Insurance 401(k) Short Term Disability Savings Account Contributions For more information on our team here at Prestage Farms click here: https://www.prestagefarms.com/our-team
