Full-Time / On-Site How You'll Make an Impact The Maintenance Mechanic reports to the site's Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for the inspection, evaluation, repair of existing, installation of new processing and utility equipment in the plant. In this role, you will directly impact the safety and reliability of an operating chemical plant. To accomplish this role, you will interact and consult with other employees like Maintenance Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, Maintenance Planners, Reliability / Process / Project Engineers, Chemical Operators, and all levels of plant supervision. In this role, you will: Safely perform preventive and predictive maintenance and repair of all industrial equipment associated with the operation of the facility and production of chemicals. Leads and assist in equipment troubleshooting for mechanical and electrical equipment. Leads and assist in the fabrication, construction, installation, and modification of new, existing and customized equipment throughout the facility. Weld mechanical equipment, structural and piping applications, including SMAW (Stick), MIG, and TIG methods; equipment metallurgies will include carbon steel, stainless steels, and aluminum. Slolder and braze for plumbing and copper piping applications. Perform general carpentry and metal fabrication work with a variety of materials. Lubricate equipment tasks with oils, greases, filters, pumps, and other advanced tools (ultrasonic tool) Perform basic facility maintenance tasks including cleaning, sweeping, and occasional snow removal and salting. Operate or works with forklifts and other heavy equipment (telehandler, boom truck / crane, skid steer, etc...) Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) Valid driver's license 3+ years' skilled industrial maintenance experience Familiarity with ISO procedures, plumbing, millwrighting, rigging, rotating/stationary equipment repair, metal fabrication, insulating, and reading prints/diagrams preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent math, reading comprehension, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Ability to follow departmental practices, procedures, and safety guidelines. Ability to safely work independently and in a team setting. Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays and call-ins. Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward Experience working in a chemical plant 3+ years welding experience Associate's degree or certificate in Industrial Maintenance and/or Engineering Technology programs (or similar) Familiarity with OSHA regulations including Lock Out Tag Out, Hot Work, and Confined Space Entry Experience with SAP software Experience
ASME / NBIC
code welding, boiler and pressure vessel repair, or
AWS / CWI
weld inspection Experience with air-operated diaphragm, centrifugal, positive displacement, and other pumps Experience with mechanical seals and seal pots for rotating equipment Experience with reactors, storage tanks, agitators, and materials handling equipment Experience operating or maintaining boilers, chillers, compressors, and water purification systems Experience with predicative maintenance (ultrasound, IR thermography, oil analysis, or vibration) Experience with basic electrical / electronic controls and instrumentation Your Work EnvironmentAt Lubrizol, we're committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment where you can do your best work—whether in a lab, on the production floor, or in a hybrid office setting.
