Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking a CQV STW Maintenance Technician to support commissioning, qualification, startup, and turnover activities for critical industrial systems. This Maintenance Technician is responsible for safely energizing direct impact systems following mechanical completion and preparing them for commissioning and qualification activities. The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial utilities, control systems, and startup operations in a fast-paced project environment. This is a 12-month contract opportunity needing to be onsite 5 days a week in Holly Spring, NC . Responsibilities of the CQV STW Maintenance Technician include:
  • Execute Set to Work (STW) protocols to safely energize direct impact systems and prepare them for commissioning and qualification activities.
  • Review and understand STW procedures, including system prerequisites, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, and energization plans.
  • Safely energize electrical, utility, and process systems using approved drawings and established procedures.
  • Perform loop checks, calibration support, motor rotation checks, and other pre-commissioning functional tests.
  • Coordinate startup activities with CQV Area and System Leads to support project schedules and avoid impacts to commissioning efforts.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of STW activities in accordance with project Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Maintain control and accountability of project tools and equipment as well as operate scissor lifts and other approved equipment as required. Qualifications for the CQV STW Maintenance Technician include:
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial, mechanical, maintenance, or related technical experience.
  • Experience working with and safely energizing live utility, electrical, or process systems.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, startup, turnover, maintenance, or industrial operations activities.
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems, automation equipment, and related technologies.
  • Ability to independently walk down systems and verify installations against approved drawings.
  • Strong understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and industrial safety practices.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines. Compensation for the CQV STW Maintenance Technician includes:
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $100,000/year
