Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and versatile General Handyman to join our facilities maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our building interiors and exterior spaces. Your expertise will help maintain a welcoming environment by performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about hands-on work, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical skills, electrical knowledge, and experience with various tools and systems to keep our facilities running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building interior systems including plumbing, electrical equipment, HVAC systems, and facilities equipment. Conduct carpentry tasks such as repairs, installations, and maintenance of doors, windows, walls, and fixtures. Utilize hand tools, schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot issues effectively. Carry out welding and mechanical work as needed to repair or modify equipment and structural components. Maintain plumbing systems through regular inspections, repairs, and system upgrades to ensure optimal operation. Support maintenance painting projects to enhance the appearance of interior spaces. Assist with electrical work including wiring, electrical equipment repair, and upgrades in accordance with safety standards. Follow safety protocols while working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, or HVAC units. Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility-related concerns promptly and professionally. Document maintenance activities accurately using schematics and logs for future reference. Experience Proven experience in general maintenance or facilities upkeep within residential or commercial settings. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters. Familiarity with HVAC system repair, plumbing system maintenance, electrical work, and building interior maintenance. Experience working with schematics for electrical or mechanical troubleshooting purposes. Knowledge of facilities equipment maintenance including HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical panels, and carpentry components. Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics to diagnose issues efficiently. Prior experience with maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) practices is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with team members and clients. Leadership qualities that enable guidance during complex repairs or team projects are a plus.
