Job Requirements Camp Lejeune, NC Secret Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Duties Construct and repair a wide variety of structural items, including building frames, concrete forms, walls, staircases, door and window frames, and interior and exterior trim. Integrate wood, metal framing, and various composite materials to install, replace, or repair interior partitions, flooring systems, wall panels, suspended ceilings, countertops, and finish moldings. Determine the specific methods, techniques, devices, and materials best suited to achieve the required surface finish, including glossy, epoxy-based, or high-performance coatings that must meet precise thickness and level tolerances. Prepare diverse facility surfaces by smoothing substrates with abrasive compounds, pumice, and sandpaper to achieve a flawless and durable finish. Execute all maintenance tasks in a manner that enhances the safety of the workspace, maintaining full compliance with federal, institutional, and shop safety rules, regulations, and procedures. Requirements Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire). This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position. This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis. This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations. Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
Qualifications Who May Apply:

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element) Ability to do the work of a(n) Maintenance Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. I can perform a variety of work primarily involving constructing, altering, repairing, and modifying items made of metal, wood, and wood substitutes. In addition, I have the ability to assemble, disassemble, install, repair, and modify steel stud framing, wood, and wood structures for structural soundness. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort Lifts, carries, and handles equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted, and over50 pounds with assistance or mechanical lifting devices. Performs work from ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms, or cramped, confined areas where equipment, parts, or tools are difficult to reach. Frequently requires standing, stooping, stretching, bending, kneeling, and climbing, as well as working in tiring, uncomfortable positions for extended periods. Additionally, involves frequent movement, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering of large, heavy furniture, facility assets, and maintenance equipment. Working Conditions Accomplishes work assignments both indoors and outdoors. When working outside, faces extended exposure to hot sun, dusty conditions, and occasionally inclement weather, with some exterior tasks performed in marsh or wetland areas. Indoor work is frequently conducted in structural areas characterized by minimal ventilation, restricted spaces, or limited access. Experiences physical discomfort while wearing required protective clothing, respirators, safety goggles, or face masks for extended periods. Operates in close proximity to moving equipment, heavy machinery, energized electrical circuits, sharp metal edges, loud noises, and eye-hazardous environments.
