Job Summary

Apollo MedFlight is seeking a skilled Heavy Maintenance MRO Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) to join our Maintenance team.

This position performs scheduled and unscheduled heavy maintenance, major inspections, repairs, alterations, component changes, and troubleshooting on Company aircraft in an MRO/heavy-maintenance environment.

The Heavy Maintenance MRO AMT is responsible for completing assigned work in accordance with approved maintenance data, Company procedures, applicable regulatory requirements, and established production schedules. Work may include aircraft disassembly and reassembly, detailed inspections, structural and systems repairs, engine and drivetrain maintenance, avionics/electrical troubleshooting, flight-control rigging, modifications, and return-to-service documentation within the privileges of the technicians certificate.

$15,000 Annual Location Stipend

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Perform scheduled heavy maintenance inspections, major repairs, alterations, modifications, and component replacements.

Perform aircraft disassembly, inspection, repair, reassembly, servicing, operational checks, and functional testing associated with heavy-maintenance events.

Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, avionics, hydraulic, fuel, engine, drivetrain, flight-control, and structural discrepancies using approved technical data.

Perform inspections and repairs using applicable manufacturer maintenance manuals, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Airworthiness Directives, engineering data, STC data, and other approved or acceptable references.

Complete work packages, task cards, discrepancy records, component records, and aircraft logbook entries accurately and timely.

Verify required inspections, torque requirements, measurements, maintenance steps, and signoffs before closing assigned work.

Verify part numbers, serial numbers, eligibility, condition, and required documentation before component installation or removal.

Maintain accountability and control of aircraft parts, components, hardware, consumables, tools, and equipment.

Follow Company requirements for tool control, calibration, FOD prevention, hazardous materials, parts control, housekeeping, and safety.

Coordinate with inspectors, leads, supervisors, planning, parts personnel, and other technicians to support maintenance production schedules.

Provide thorough shift-turnover information regarding completed work, open discrepancies, parts status, required inspections, and remaining work.

Assist with aircraft ground runs, functional checks, weighing, jacking, towing, rigging, and other maintenance activities when trained, qualified, and authorized.

Support quality audits, conformity inspections, records reviews, and corrective actions.

Maintain regular and reliable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.

Minimum two (2) years of aircraft maintenance experience as a certificated mechanic.

Demonstrated experience performing scheduled inspections, aircraft disassembly/reassembly, troubleshooting, repairs, and component replacement.

Ability to read and understand Company policies, applicable CFRs, maintenance procedures, and accreditation requirements.

Ability to interpret manufacturer and third-party maintenance instructions, STC/FAA Form 337 data, drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical instructions.

Ability to accurately complete maintenance records, task cards, discrepancy documentation, and aircraft log entries.

Ability to identify anomalies in aircraft structures, wiring, systems, components, and installed hardware.

Valid Drivers License

Maintains regular and reliable attendance

Preferred Qualifications

FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).

Three (3) or more years of helicopter and/or fixed-wing maintenance experience, particularly in a heavy-maintenance, repair-station, depot, or major-inspection environment.

Part 135 aircraft maintenance experience.

Factory or equivalent maintenance training on Company-operated aircraft, including Bell 407/429, EC135/EC145, and King Air series aircraft.

Experience with major scheduled inspections, engine or drivetrain changes, flight-control rigging, structural repairs, modifications, and complex troubleshooting.

Experience with maintenance tracking systems, electronic work packages, technical records, and quality-control processes.

Air medical or critical-care transport aircraft maintenance experience.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

Work is primarily performed in an aircraft hangar/MRO environment with periodic ramp and outdoor exposure. The position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, bending, crawling, reaching, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Employees regularly use hand and power tools, precision measuring/test equipment, and specialized aircraft-maintenance tooling.

The position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees must be able to work assigned shifts and required overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on production needs. Occasional travel may be required.
