A Building and General Maintenance Technician performs building maintenance and appliance repairs for an apartment complex, housing division, residential center or business, as directed by a property manager.
Property Renovation & Maintenance Technician Full-Time | Tuesday-Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Mak Rentals is hiring experienced, dependable individuals to join our growing renovation and maintenance team. This is a hands-on position for someone who knows how to work, takes pride in doing things correctly, and is comfortable handling a wide variety of residential projects. Applicants must live within approximately 30 minutes of the Lake Norman area and have reliable transportation. About Mak Rentals Mak Rentals is a locally owned real estate company specializing in short-term/Airbnb rental properties. We purchase distressed homes, completely renovate them with high-quality finishes, and operate them as Airbnbs. We are also expanding into new-home construction. We are a licensed North Carolina General Contractor based in Statesville, with projects throughout the Lake Norman area and surrounding communities, including Mooresville, Denver, Troutman, Mount Holly, Statesville, and occasionally Gastonia. Our team builds distinctive, high-quality properties—and we are looking for experienced people who can help us maintain that standard.
Responsibilities This position may include:
Interior and exterior painting Basic plumbing repairs and installation Basic electrical work Drywall installation and repair HVAC troubleshooting and minor repairs Landscaping and exterior maintenance Concrete installation and repair Carpentry and framing Installing fixtures, hardware, trim, and finishes Moving and assembling beds, furniture, curtains, and other household items Preparing and fully setting up rental properties General residential renovation, repair, and maintenance work Applicants do not need to be experts in every trade, but they must have real hands-on construction, remodeling, or property-maintenance experience. We are looking for people who can safely use tools, follow instructions, solve problems, and complete quality work without constant supervision. Requirements Live within approximately 30 minutes of the Lake Norman area Previous experience in construction, remodeling, maintenance, or a related trade Reliable transportation Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Ability to drive a work truck and trailer when needed Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform the physical duties of the position Own basic everyday tools, including a drill, hammer, tape measure, and similar hand tools Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Willingness to travel between job sites in the Lake Norman and north Charlotte areas Most major and specialty tools are provided by Mak Rentals.
