United States, North Carolina, Smithfield 2121 Wal Pat Road (Show on map) Apr 27, 2026 Apply Job Type Full-time Description To ensure all plant processing and facilities equipment are running at optimum efficiency on a daily basis. Principal Duties . Maintain and repair processing equipment.

• Maintain and repair facilities equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on processing and plant equipment.
• Electrical troubleshooting.
• Mechanical troubleshooting.
• Communicate and document work performed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or asked of by management. Requirements o Machine tool o Electrical troubleshooting o Facilities maintenance Decisions and Responsibilities . Must demonstrate Journeyman level competence in all of the above trade skills.
• Manage and perform projects independently.
• Mentor Maintenance Mechanic 1 levels. Technical Requirements . Experience in repair of high-speed processing and paper converting equipment is preferred.
• License or certificates in any of the below trades is required:
• Electrical installations, troubleshooting and repair 24V-480V
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
• Welding and fabrication
• Pneumatic troubleshooting and repair
• Machine tools
• Plumbing and pipefitting
• Facilities repair Physical Requirements / Working Conditions . Will be required lift to 10 pounds; may be required to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Talk and hear over loud volumes.
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk and sit.
• Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
• Must be able to work in a noisy and dusty manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
• Must be able to withstand both hot and cold atmosphere depending on weather conditions.
