Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and repair of facility equipment. Maintains assigned equipment, provides training to peers as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Monitor VRT area to ensure proper functioning of assigned equipment.

Be able to handle extreme cold temperatures with proper cold gear for majority of shift. Review work orders to ensure accuracy and maintain documentation of work performed.

Adjust, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Assist with installation of new equipment or modify existing equipment as required. Provide training to peers as requested or needed by maintenance tech lead. Make suggestions for correctible measures when downtime results from mechanical or technical defects. Attend meetings and trainings as required. Identify opportunities for improvement and gives feedback to supervisor, including cost reduction, quality improvement and yield control. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment Perform backup duties to other staff as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of electrical and mechanical procedures.

Knowledge of basic math, including addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and calculating percentages. Skill in using power tools. Skill in using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner with both internal and external customers. Ability to operate a forklift and scissors lift. Ability to consistently practice and enforce safe working habits. Ability to recognize safety risks and comply with all safety standards. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and weekends. Welding ability highly preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate's Degree in Mechanics or Technology preferred. Minimum of 6 months related experience in a maintenance position. Previous experience working with VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive) preferred.
