Job Description
Maintenance Engineer We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Maintenance Engineer to oversee the general maintenance needs of our 70+ room hotel in Ogallala, Nebraska. This position helps ensure the property remains safe, comfortable, functional and well-maintained for our guests and team members. Primary Responsibilities Complete routine maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and exterior spaces. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff. Troubleshoot basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, carpentry, and mechanical issues. Perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems. Monitor the pool and complete routine pool maintenance. Identify repairs that require an outside vendor or licensed professional. Maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, supplies, and hotel keys. Coordinate with hotel leadership, vendors, inspectors, and contractors as needed. Follow hotel safety, security, and brand standards. Assist with unexpected maintenance needs as they arise. Qualifications Previous experience in general maintenance, construction, property maintenance, or a related field is preferred. Basic knowledge of common repairs and building systems. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Dependable, organized, and able to prioritize multiple tasks. Comfortable using common tools and maintenance equipment. Pool maintenance experience is helpful but not required. Hotel experience is preferred but not required. Formal trade licenses and HVAC certifications are not required.
