Job Description
Overview Assist the Maintenance Superintendent in the daily operation of all aspects of the village departments. This will include working within the electric, water, street, parks and sewer departments. The job will vary from day to day, consisting of trimming trees, street repair, mowing, maintenance of city owned property and equipment, snow removal, and assisting in basic utility work. The ideal candidate for this job is someone with municipal work experience, or the capability and desire to learn the position. Experience with heavy equipment is a plus. Successful candidate must be at least 18 years of age; must be able to lift 50 pounds; work a normal 8 - 5 day; must be willing to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions; must be willing to work after hours in emergency situations when necessary. Applicant must be willing to obtain a Nebraska Grade IV Water Operator License, and a Grade I Wastewater Treatment Facility Certification. Applicants must possess a valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record. High school diploma or equivalency is required and willingness to complete needed courses for the position in order to receive licensing. Pre-employment drug screening is required. Wages are negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health insurance stipend, matching retirement, paid holidays, vacation, and sick pay.
