SCOPE OF POSITION
The Floor Maintenance Operator ensures the protection and preservation of floor surfaces to maintain appropriate appearance and cleanliness. The Environmental Services Team at Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is committed to providing residents, clients, visitors, and employees with a safe and clean environment. The Floor Maintenance Operator utilizes proper procedures, equipment, and cleaning chemicals to clean, strip, and wax floors in all areas of the Nursing Home and Assisted Living Community to include common areas, offices, and resident rooms. Other aspects of this position may include setting up rooms for meetings/functions including audio-visual equipment, replacing lightbulbs, transporting trash to disposal areas, maintaining supply inventory for Environmental Services, assisting with laundry, and moving office furnishings/resident furniture as needed. Due to the nature of this position, our Floor Maintenance Operators need to occasionally move 100 pounds with the use of assistive devices and frequently move up to 50 pounds. High School diploma or equivalent education is preferred. Previous cleaning and/or customer service experience preferred.
