Job Description

Position Summary General Trading Company is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain our warehouse and office facilities. We're looking for a well-rounded "jack of all trades" who is mechanically inclined, enjoys solving problems, and takes pride in keeping our facility safe, efficient, and well maintained. This is not a janitorial or mechanic position.
Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the facility. Troubleshoot and complete general repairs including plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, lighting, doors, locks, drywall, flooring, shelving, and other building components. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs. Safely operate hand and power tools. Work closely with the Safety Department to identify, correct, and help prevent unsafe conditions before they become larger issues. Report building deficiencies, safety concerns, and repairs requiring outside contractors. Maintain maintenance logs and complete work orders as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and PPE requirements. Assist with facility improvements, renovations, installations, and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of commercial, industrial, or facilities maintenance experience. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience performing general building repairs. Working knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance. Ability to troubleshoot problems and determine practical repair solutions. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is preferred. Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely perform physical work throughout the workday.
