Job Description

Our client, a food manufacturing company in Carteret, NJ, is looking for manufacturing/production mechanics that would be directly responsible for maintaining and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems in a food processing environment. In this role you will use your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to identify and fix issues, ensuring the optimal performance of machines and minimizing downtime. Starting at $37 per hour, commensurate with experience Monday-Friday 10p-6:30a (overtime available)
Job Responsibilities:
Preventive maintenance of seafood-related production lines according to established schedules, procedures, and checklist. Able to read blueprints Support production by ensuring safe and proper operation of the high-speed food processing equipment and machinery. Follow maintenance procedures, work instructions , equipment specifications, and established safety requirements. Inspect, troubleshot, repair and maintain production equipment such as spiral freezer, mixers, water chillers, pasteurizers, box sealers, metal detectors, Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and engineering staff to troubleshoot and resolve issues, including preventative maintenance, pumps, cylinders, motors, conveyer belts, HVAC, cooling towers, boilers, compressors, in a production environment that includes a cold/refrigerated area. Maintain operations of systems such as pneumatic, hydraulic, electric. Install and repair mixers and packaging equipment. Assist outside contractors and vendors in completing company projects. Communicate with management for directions, informing of any problems and issues that can cause equipment failure. Follows safety regulations. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Maintains time and production records
Qualifications:
At least 3 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic in the manufacturing/production industry Two-year associate degree in related skills trade, preferred. Or in lieu of degree, one-year machine or electrical maintenance with 2 years industrial maintenance experience, required Previous experience with food manufacturing/processing equipment highly desired Experience with electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic repair, preventative maintenance, gears and conveyers highly desired. Must be able to lift 50LBs Ability to work in a multi-temperature environment (heat / cold temperatures)
