Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Skilled Nursing Facility team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, comfortable, and fully operational environment for residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with general building maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting. Experience in a healthcare, nursing home, assisted living, hospital, or similar facility is preferred. Perform daily inspections of the building, grounds, equipment, and resident areas. Complete routine and preventive maintenance to keep facility systems operating safely and efficiently. Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and mechanical repairs. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders. Maintain and repair doors, locks, windows, walls, ceilings, floors, fixtures, and other building components. Assist with maintenance of resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces. Inspect and maintain equipment, including wheelchairs, beds, and other facility equipment. Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repairs. Identify potential safety hazards and report or correct them promptly. Assist with emergency repairs and facility-related emergencies when necessary. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work areas. Follow all facility safety policies, infection-control procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Assist with fire and life-safety inspections, drills, and emergency preparedness activities. Work cooperatively with nursing, housekeeping, dietary, administration, and other departments. Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director or Administrator. Qualifications Previous experience in building or facility maintenance preferred. Skilled nursing, healthcare, hospital, assisted living, or long-term-care experience is a plus. Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems. Ability to troubleshoot problems and perform repairs safely. Ability to use common hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to resident and staff safety. Good communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to respond to maintenance emergencies when required. Must be able to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
