Job Description
Header Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Sign Fabricator/Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will oversee the fabrication and installation of custom signage, ensuring that all projects meet quality standards, safety protocols, and client specifications. Your expertise in metal fabrication, welding, and blueprint interpretation will drive the successful completion of complex sign projects from start to finish. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team, work on diverse projects, and contribute to creating visually impactful signage solutions. Duties Lead the fabrication process by interpreting mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to produce accurate sign components using sheet metal, metal materials, and various fabrication techniques Operate and maintain power tools, hand tools, plasma cutters, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble sign parts in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and shop math principles Perform welding operations including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), to join metal components securely Measure materials precisely using measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure tight tolerances and proper fitment Install signs on-site by utilizing cranes when necessary, adhering strictly to safety protocols and site-specific procedures Conduct quality inspections throughout fabrication and installation phases to verify accuracy, structural integrity, and visual appeal of finished signs Collaborate with project managers and clients to interpret technical drawings accurately and ensure project specifications are met or exceeded Qualifications Proven SIGN construction, management experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols and site logistics Skilled in blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and interpreting technical drawings for fabrication projects Extensive experience with sheet metal fabrication, metal materials handling, welding, assembly, and use of power tools Knowledge of shop math principles essential for precise measurements and fabrication calculations Familiarity with crane operation for sign installation is preferred but not mandatory; training provided if necessary Mechanical knowledge related to sign fabrication processes including mechanical blueprint interpretation and mechanical fabrication techniques Strong understanding of AWS standards for welding quality assurance Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to safety compliance and quality control Join us as a Lead Sign Fabricator/Installer where your expertise will shape impactful signage solutions while leading a dedicated team.
