Shift:
Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM Job Description Perform major mechanical repairs with minimal supervision to ensure proper performance of equipment on site. Coordinate with other mechanics on duty for repairs and ensure all assigned work is completed during the shift. Communicate with supervisors about daily activities and coordinate with maintenance personnel from previous and upcoming shifts. Responsibilities Aid in the execution of the maintenance schedule, being conscious of products being run in the production area. Complete work orders as assigned. Perform minor and major repairs on various types of equipment, including packing/filling machines, cappers, labelers, seamers, case packers, case sealers, jar and case coders, mixers, heat exchangers, palletizers, de-palletizers, pallet wrappers, pumps, and other plant equipment. Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns with a focus on mechanical issues. Observe safety regulations, wear all required safety equipment, and encourage safe working practices. Comply with all applicable standards such as USDA, FDA, relevant CFRs, GFSI, and other customer requirements. Install new equipment and adjust the configuration of production equipment according to the production schedule. Report any food safety or quality issues to the QA group or any member of the food safety team. Comply with company policies, including GMPs, LOTO, Machine Guarding, and Electrical safety as directed by OSHA. Skills 3+ years of mechanical experience in a food manufacturing environment. High school diploma. Understanding of production and plant processes. Experience in troubleshooting with some electrical knowledge. Commitment to company goals and employee safety. Willingness to work overtime if necessary. Flexibility, organization, and ability to work under time constraints and deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications Welding ability is a plus. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Williamstown, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
