Job Description

Job Summary:
Repairs and maintains Packaging Plant and equipment. Performs maintenance repairs on facility fixtures and structures. Essential competencies for a Maintenance Technician role:
Electrical Expertise:
Proficiency with motors, relays, sensors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and the application of multimeters.
Mechanical Expertise:
Proficiency with conveyor systems, gears, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and the proper utilization of power tools.
Technical Diagrams:
Ability to properly interpret and read blueprints along with electrical and mechanical schematics.
Essential Functions:
  • Inspects machinery and equipment.
  • Maintains machinery and equipment.
  • Services machinery and equipment.
  • Controls and monitors the equipment and facility.
  • Preforms routine PM on equipment.
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Assists in other areas of the department as necessary.
  • Assists in other areas of the company as necessary. Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
  • Printer, calculator, copier, phone, fax, scale, hand truck, utility cart, step stool, box knife, tape gun, conveyor line, and power tools
Experience, Skills, Education & Licenses/Certifications Required:
  • Must have experience in technical services and facility maintenance.
  • Must have electronic and mechanical experience, certification helpful.
  • Mechanical aptitude to effectively communicate to ensure accuracy. Ability to complete tasks with little supervision.
  • Ability to work well under pressure to maintain work flow.
  • Cooperative, and positive attitude working as a part of a team.
  • Flexible to changing priorities. Attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently to suppliers, department employees and management.
Recommended:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Experience with Continuous improvement such as 5S and Kaizen concepts.
